Mr So graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with a B.A. in Chinese Language and Literature, and a M.Phil. in 2007 with his dissertation on the Commentary of Xunzi. He participated in the CHANT(CHinese ANcient Text) Database project hosted by the Research Centre for Chinese Ancient Text, CUHK. His research interests include Chinese Etymology, Chinese Paleography and Ancient Chinese Language.

Mr So had been teaching Chinese Linguistics for Education and other Ancient Text–related courses in other tertiary institutions. Under the influence of Mr So’s spirit of selfless dedication in education, many of his past students are now working as language teachers in both primary and secondary schools. After he joined the College in 2005, he has been teaching Chinese culture, practical writing and oral communication since then.

Other than Chinese Language, Mr So is also keen on other fields of Chinese culture, with particular interest in the History of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting. As an attempt to promote Chinese culture to the community, he has served the Hong Kong Youth Women’s Christian Association as an executive member of its orchestra for over 10 years.
